I just want to take this time to tell you guys about two websites that have partnered up with major sponsors in order to provide support for different charities. All they need are people like us to do free online activities in order to earn money for these causes!
First up is FreeRice.com, a non-profit website run by the United Nations World Food Program. The concept of their homepage: for every question you answer correctly, they will donate 10 grains of rice to help end world hunger. Though the default questions are about vocabulary, there are several different subjects available – ranging from art and chemistry, to geology and math. The site states that since their launching, over 79 billion grains of rice have been donated. Personally, I know I’ve donated at least ten thousand grains of rice since first hearing about the program. I encourage anyone and everyone to try it out – it’s for such a good cause.
The second thing I’d like you guys to know about is SocialVibe.com, a website dedicated to informing young people about global issues and raise money for many different charities through sponsors. All they need are people to log in and do some activities – such as read their blog, answer a few questions, or take a poll. The program I chose to earn money for is charity: water – and for just a few minutes of my time, I had already donated enough for 825 gallons of clean water for Haiti. I even added a little widget on the sidebar of this blog, in case you guys were interested!
It would really mean a lot to me if you would check these two sites out, maybe tell some of your friends about it – Facebook, Twitter, however. Please make a difference. Thank you. <3
